Common questions

Clear answers about aged care support.

What aged care services can Meridian provide?

Depending on your approved plan and local availability, Meridian can help with nursing and allied health, personal care, medication support, social support, transport, respite, domestic assistance, meals, shopping, home maintenance, assistive technology and home modifications. Where a service requires a qualified professional or specialist supplier, we can arrange the right support and keep the process clear.

Can Meridian arrange nursing or allied health support?

Yes. When included in your approved plan, Meridian can arrange appropriately qualified nursing and allied health professionals to support you at home, subject to local availability.

Can support include social and community activities?

Yes. Depending on the person’s assessed needs and agreed service arrangements, support may include appointments, shopping, local outings, visits with family or friends and participation in community activities.

Can support be tailored to personal routines and preferences?

Yes. Meridian aims to understand the person’s routines, preferences, interests, communication needs and what a good day looks like, then reflect these in the agreed support approach.

Can I use government-funded aged care support?

Yes, where services align with your My Aged Care assessment, Notice of Decision, approved support plan and available budget. We can help explain what is approved and arrange suitable local support.

Will I see the same support worker?

We aim for a small and consistent support team wherever possible. We also explain backup arrangements so clients and families understand what will happen if a usual worker is unavailable.

How quickly can support begin?

Timing depends on suitability, required approvals, worker availability, screening and preparation. We will provide a realistic timeframe once these factors are understood.
